Hello everybody! Sorry I've been away for a week or so - I have finally finished my uni semester, but had a busy few weeks leading up to the end of semester! But I am back :) and will be posting regularly again! :) If you've been reading my blog for a little while, you'd know that I'm making a conscious effort to start using up all of the products that I already own instead of adding to my collection every week - so I've rounded up another lot of used-up products so I can tell you what I thought of them and if I'd get them again :) Enjoy!
1) Laura Mercier: Tinted Moisturiser SPF 20
I didn't want to start this off with a failure, but Mum passed this on to me because she found she didn't really use tinted moisturisers and I was excited to try one because normally I wear foundations on a daily basis and wanted to test out something a little lighter. My skin is combination-type so normally I don't have too many problems finding products that work for me, but this one really didn't work out unfortunately :( it made my skin super oily and after each day I tried this out, my skin would start to break out. It may work well for people with really dry skin, but combo or oily skin-types, I probably wouldn't recommend this.
2) Lush: Mask of Magnaminty
I know I've mentioned this one in a few articles (Lush Haul, Monthly Favourites etc.) but it's totally worth the hype! My sister Nicole and I did this mask every Friday night and absolutely loveeed it! :) It feels so refreshing on the skin and dries out whilst it's doing its work.. so that makes it even more fun! I am testing out a Korres mask at the moment, but once that's used up, I'll definitely be popping back into Lush to pick up another mask! :)
3) TheBalm: Tall, Dark and Handsome Mascara (Black)
I own a TheBalm blush which I adore, so when I ran out of mascara, I thought I'd give one of their mascaras a go to see if their other products were any good. I loved this mascara! :) It isn't too full-on and is really lovely for everyday-wear. It separated my lashes well and didn't make them too voluminous (as it's something I don't normally look for in a mascara since I have lots of eyelashes, luckily!) This was so pretty, and whilst I love trying out new mascaras once I finish others, I would highly recommend this! :)
4) Sephora Collection: Smoothing and Brightening Concealer
This was a bit of a 'meh' product. I didn't really notice much of a difference when I was using it as it was quite thin, yet would crease up under my eyes. I am currently trying Rimmel's 'Wake Me Up' concealer which I am finding much more handy. I probably wouldn't repurchase the Sephora Collection concealer, but was happy to test it out!
5) Marc Jacobs: 'Dot' Eau de Parfum
This is my favourite perfume in the wholeee world! (with Si by Giorgio Armani and Clean Skin by CLEAN Cosmetics following closely after). This is the third bottle of Dot that I've gone through, and luckily I was gifted a fourth one :') As I've mentioned before, I am such a sucker for more refreshing perfumes over super floral-y ones, and Dot ticks all the boxes for me! If you've never smelt it, according to Sephora, Dot has notes of: Red Berries, Dragonfruit, Honeysuckle, Jasmine, Coconut Water, Orange Blossom, Vanilla, Driftwood, Musk and its style is: Chic. Energetic and Upbeat. Would recommend if you like fresh-smelling perfumes :)
6) Jurlique: Moisture Replenishing Day Cream
I have been on the hunt for a moisturiser for a little while, and I think I've found the one! :) This has really made my skin much softer and more consistent and I am not on to my second tube of this moisturiser! After I finish this, I want to try the Rose-Moisture Replenishing Day Cream as I'm a sucker for rose-water scented things! But overall, so far, so good :)
7) Oralife: Peppermint Lip Treatment
I've been using this lip balm since I was in highschool - for winter months where your lips get all chapped and dry, it works wonders! You can grab this from most chemists and this tube will last you FOREVER! I had one in my handbag and one in my everyday make-up bag at home, and I swear it has taken me a good year and a half to use this up! But it is really good if you have super dry lips.
8) The Body Shop: English Rose Shower Gel
I am so in love with the English Rose range at the Body Shop! It was originally meant to be a limited edition range, but they got such a good response that they have now made it permanent! :) I was so happy to hear it when I got told by one of the shop assistants! The scent is so pretty and not too floral - and this is why I've gone through two gels already. I'm keen to try their glowing skin moisturiser and some of the other products from this range too :)
9) Crabtree and Evelyn: Pear and Pink Magnolia Hand Cream
This is probably a cheat empties product to put on because it's only the little tubes that they sell at C&E - but I like the mini ones better because they're so cute and are light to carry around everyday and and and.. I just like them better :) I loved this scent (I bought myself a 5 pack during Christmas time so I can try out the different scents and find ones that I like :)) but this one definitely gets a thumbs up!
10) Dove: Go Fresh Deodorant
I usually just use this when I'm travelling, but I finally used it up. I'm not a fan of roll-on deodorant so I think I'll just start bringing my spray deodorant in this scent around with me - but yes! It was worth giving it a go, but I probably wouldn't re-purchase it again unless I had to fly :)
10) Go-To Skincare: Pear and Pink Magnolia Hand Cream
I love Zoe Foster-Blake and everything that she does (I just got her new book Amazinger Face in the mail yesterday and it's so adorable and I can't wait to read it all!). This foaming cleanser was great :) I like to use foaming cleansers when I shower at night so it's super easy to just rinse off underwater. I wasn't super keen on the scent of this cleanser, but my skin did feel great afterwards, and the packaging is just so adorable, isn't it!?
11) Dusk: Soy Candle
I got this candle for Christmas from one of my friends and loved the scent of it! I was trying to find what scent it was on the website but wasn't successful in finding it, so I'm sorry :( but it was really lovely and I'm excited to go into Dusk and see all of their other scents so I can pick another to sit on my bedside table :)
12) bareMinerals: Mineral Veil
When my sister went to New York at the start of the year, she got me a few bits and pieces and brought me back this little face powder tester. I had never owned a face powder before and because of its little size, I started using it as an under-eye setting powder. I really liked this and it made my skin feel so soft and nice :)
13) Tester Items: Mizon Face Mask, DermaE Charcoal Mask, Daisy by Marc Jacobs.
I get a few testers a month through my BellaBox, Mecca Beauty Loop Box and other bits and pieces. These few I tested out and really liked, but didn't absolutely love. I did love the packaging of Mizon, but I do prefer cream masks rather than material masks. I'm happy to keep testing out products until I find ones that I truly love to repurchase the full-size products.
